The e’Bosch School Holiday Programme ended on a high note with two vibrant events celebrating youth – the Space Olympic Showcase on Wednesday 16 July and the Space Olympiad on Saturday 19 July. At the Stellenbosch Town Hall the showcase brought the cosmos to life through imaginative music, dance and drama performances by children from across participating dorpies. Weeks of rehearsal paid off as the young performers wowed the audience with energy and creativity. There was also an art exhibition, where creatives had the opportunity to showcase their works, such as rocket ships and more. Awards for best performance, best food exhibition and best art exhibition were presented. Three days later the Ida’s Valley Sports Ground hosted the Space Olympiad, where children aged six to 18 years competed in friendly soccer and netball tournaments. The sports day celebrated not just athletic skill, but also teamwork, resilience and leadership, with every youth team recognised for their effort and sportsmanship. Both events showcased the power of community, creativity and youth empowerment.
