When the non-profit company Pink Trees for Pauline was founded in 2012 one woman’s dream became a larger-than-life project.
Wrapped in love, united in hope, Pink Trees for Pauline continues to astound every year. It is more than a bright pink cloth wrapped snugly around a tree during October; it’s a reminder that whatever people’s cancer may be all are survivors, warriors and symbols of hope.
As Cancer Awareness Month (October) draws to a close those who are still fighting this battle with the condition, or may have lost their battle, will continue to be held near and dear. But all is not lost since many have won this battle and continue to do so.
With advancements in medical research, battles are turning into triumphs, not only through the help of modern medicine, but the gift of hope and support of others.
Not only does the brain have myriad wonders, but it is a gift of hope. If one’s mind is positive one can achieve so much. Draw on the strength and positive energy to get one through life’s hardship, and it is with this in mind that Pink Trees For Pauline is asking you to help.
The organisation calls on all to share their stories of triumph over cancer. With your permission Pink Trees For Pauline will create a compendium of stories to share with those who may not have hope, a powerful gift that can change and touch the lives of so many and a source of inspiration for those who need it most.
Stories can be submitted via email to Adri Janse van Niewenhuizen on adri@pinktrees.co.za until Saturday 30 November, and one story will be randomly selected to receive a gift of thanks.
