The highly anticipated annual Mr & Miss Stellenbosch Pageant is scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon, 30 September, at the Stellenbosch Town Hall.

The pageant’s director, Enigma von Hamburg, says it is far more than just a beauty contest or modelling competition. “It offers a platform and opportunities for every contestant to grow and rise above their circumstances, becoming heroes in their communities while fighting for social change, something much needed in our society.

“Additionally, the pageant serves as a vehicle for educating communities about respecting and showing tolerance towards people of diverse sexual orientations, as well as those from various cultural, religious, and racial backgrounds.”

The finalists will go through a series of judging rounds, which include a pre-judging event, closed-door interviews and, most importantly, they will be challenged to start their own social awareness campaigns that shed light on important social issues faced by today’s youth. As a pre-event, there will also be a High Tea fundraiser.

The pageant caters for the whole family, with competing categories ranging from Tiny Toddler, Junior, Pre-Teen, and Teen to Senior and even Mrs. (for adults). Entries are open to anyone residing in Idas Valley, Cloetesville, Jamestown, Kayamandi, Koelenhof, Klapmuts, Pniel, Kylemore, Languedoc, Franschhoek, and Central Stellenbosch. To enter, simply submit your full name and area of residence to 078 515 9645 (WhatsApp) or email pageants@evhempire.co.za.
