Celebrating its 7th anniversary in 2022, the Fedhealth MTB Challenge will return to the picturesque Blaauwklippen Wine Estate (Stellenbosch) on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September. Entries opened on Wednesday 4 May.

“The Fedhealth MTB Challenge caters for mountain biking enthusiasts of all ages and is the perfect outdoor event for active families,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and founder of the event.

“The action will start on Saturday at the Fedhealth MTB Challenge Kids Event with future stars between 1 – 13 years of age taking on a fun-filled 500m, 1.5 km or 5 km event. The Fedhealth MTB Challenge Fun Ride (+-15 km) will also take place on Saturday and is ideal for parents that would like to take part in an event with their children.

“On Sunday the more serious mountain bikers will toe the line at the Fedhealth MTB Challenge Marathon (+-60 km) and half marathon (+-30 km). We can’t wait to welcome active families back to the start line at the Blaauwklippen Wine Estate, ready to #RideOpenSpaces at the 2022 Fedhealth MTB Challenge,” he added.

Says Jeremy Yatt, Fedhealth Principal Officer: “Now more than ever, Fedhealth Medical Scheme wants to promote healthy, active lifestyles amongst South African families. This event is the perfect platform for us to do so, and let’s face it, what can be better than getting away from it all, celebrating health and life, and riding in the scenic Western Cape winelands? We truly hope that riders of all ages and abilities will join us for a weekend of fun, fitness and family.”
