There seems to be no end in sight for farm robberies and attacks in the Drakenstein area.
Two security guards were overpowered by three robbers on the farm Drakenzicht in Groot Drakenstein. The attack happened on Sunday night (22 February) at around 22:45. The three robbers entered the premises and tied up the security guards with a rope.
One of them was armed with a firearm.
The suspects stole sound equipment and 19 solar panels. According to a police spokesperson a reward of R20 000 is being offered for the stolen goods as both the sound equipment and solar panels are rare and valuable.
No one was physically harmed in the robbery and the police is investigating a case of business robbery. Groot Drakenstein police station did not respond to this newspaper’s questions in time for print.
