Stellenbosch police, in collaboration with Faure-based Hope Revolution, ran a crime-awareness outreach to Stellenzicht High and Weber Gedenk Primary last week. It focused on youth at risk, substance abuse, gangsterism and the dangers of peer pressure. According to police spokesperson Sgt Jason Rhoda (Safer Schools official) about 700 learners and 40 teachers were reached during these demonstrations and role play, which were well received and much needed by schools. “As the police we will enforce the law where applicable, but will also continue to inspire, guide and educate our young people on making the correct decisions,” Rhoda said.
