It also ranks 14th on the Travel + Leisure list of 100 Best Hotels in the World. The Africa and Middle East category of Travel + Leisure’s annual “World’s Best Awards” survey for 2023 witnessed stiff competition from luxurious accommodations in awe-inspiring destinations such as Victoria Falls and Sossusvlei Dessert.
However, it was Babylonstoren’s remarkable qualities that stood out, including its expansive garden, rustic farmyard, sprawling vineyards and lush orchards, all of which can be explored on the complimentary bicycles provided by the hotel. Babylonstoren achieved an outstanding reader score of 98.50 out of 100.

The 2023 survey, conducted by Travel + Leisure, invited their readers to share their travel experiences and opinions on the top travel destinations worldwide. An overwhelming response was received, with nearly 165 000 T+L readers participating and casting over 685 000 votes for more than 8 500 unique properties.
