After a tough competition at the annual Paarl Boys’ High School Chess Festival 2024, Rhenish Girls’ High School claimed the bronze medal in the girls’ division on Saturday 5 October. The team comprises (from left) Mariam Janelidze, Amy-Leigh Gibson, Faith Martin and Naylan Saaiman. To add to their great achievement, Mariam won the award for best second board player, while Amy-Leigh won the best fourth board player in the girls’ division.
