Visit Stellenbosch is calling on aspiring tour guides from the greater Stellenbosch area to apply for its 2025-’26 Adventure & Culture Guiding Training Programme.
Applications for the programme are now open and close on Monday 3 November.
If you’re passionate about Stellenbosch, love the outdoors or local heritage and dream of turning that passion into a career – this is your chance.
The programme runs from Wednesday 7 January until Saturday 28 February 2026. It is ideal for focus tourism workers and newcomers to the sector. To qualify, applicants must be available on all training dates in January and February.
A phase 1 selection will be made, and all applicants in this phase must attend an information session on Thursday 13 November. A final selection will be completed after the workshop.
The Adventure & Culture Guiding Training Programme is fully sponsored, NQF4 CATHSSETA-accredited training for 10 adventure guides and seven culture guides. It is presented by the provincial Department of Economic Development and Tourism and Visit Stellenbosch.
Successful candidates will be registered as official tourist guides in the Western Cape.
