The Calling Academy, a school in Stellenbosch, was officially launched on 1 March.

The school currently operates in the buildings of the former Vlaeberg Primary School, and is filled to capacity with 60 Grade 8 boys. The 2018 school fee of R6 000 per learner makes the school truly accessible for learners from lower-income communities. Despite the low school fee, a high standard of teaching and learning is maintained.

At the function, Nyaniso Jindela, Deputy Mayor of Stellenbosch, pledged the full support of the Stellenbosch Municipality for the new school.

Willy Maliwa, Western Cape Education Department (WCED) Circuit Manager of the Cape Winelands, also attended and expressed the gratitude of the WCED for the new school. He said the government struggles to keep up with the growing demand for English-medium high schools.

Calling Education NPC, the operator of Calling Academy, is therefore a valued local partner of the WCED.
