A special thanksgiving service for uniformed services will be held in Ida’s Valley.

As the festive season approaches, often referred to as the “silly season”, first responders face increased pressure and numerous challenges.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Uniform Service, when those in uniform come together for a special service, seeking strength from the Divine in honouring their calling.

The event will be held at the Volkskerk van Afrika in Ida’s Valley at 10:00 on Sunday 23 November.

To support emergency personnel emotionally and spiritually in this demanding period, Uniform Services are held across various regions, bringing front-line staff together for collective prayer, encouragement and preparation.

This meaningful initiative was founded by Pastor Jenny Willemse in 2005. She envisioned creating a space for those in uniform to gather in unity, seek strength and honour their calling.

The service will pay tribute to the men and women who lost their lives in the line of duty, while also offering thanks to God for His continued protection over all who serve.

The community is warmly invited to join this milestone event.
