After being locked down and unable to have their annual Charity Art Auction at Muratie the past two years the Marié Stander School of Art is proud to announce that the Charity Art Auction is once again happening “live” at the beautiful Muratie Wine Farm, next Tuesday the 22 March. Viewing starts at 17:30 and the actual auction at 19:00. This is a highlight on the Stellenbosch social calendar, because not only do you have the chance to buy a beautiful artwork by one of the art schools’ students or the artist’s herself, you can also enjoy an evening of wine, food and live music and make a difference in a needy child’s life.
With the funding made with this auction the Marie Stander School of Art is sponsoring schoolchildren in need of school clothes, sporting equipment, musical instruments and so much more. They also sponsor the feeding scheme in Jamestown driven by Usiku.
The 2022 theme for the artworks on auction are inspired by a collection of “Unfinished sentences…” and students were asked to finish these sentences with their visuals. As always an exhibition is not to be missed. Tickets can be bought at R200 per person from participating students or e-mail jessiestrydom@gmail.com if you would like to attend this charitable event and so make a difference in an underprivileged child’s life.
