The third annual Skynamo Cross Challenge will be presented by Skynamo, in partnership with Alphawave, in Grabouw on Saturday 25 February at 08:00.

Touted as the country’s biggest off-road triathlon, it will see athletes experience the pristine waters of the Eikenhof Dam and the world-renowned trails of the Grabouw Country Club in an adventure like never before.

The event is open to sports loving explorers of all ages and fitness levels, with athletes having the chance to choose between various race options. Those participating in the full race will start with a 1 000 m swim, comprising two laps of 500 m and a 50 m run in between laps. Next, they’ll tackle the 22 km mountain biking leg on 70% single-track and 30% jeep-track. Then it’s time for the 7,2 km trail run, with its varying terrain comprising 95% single-track, 2% obstacle course racing and 1% “swamble” (swim and run).

The sprint race is about half the distance and there are also race options available for children. The Skynamo Corporate Challenge also offers corporates an experience of a full day of exhilarating adventure, team building and healthy competition. Teams will cycle, run and swim for the chance to win amazing prizes, bragging rights and a trophy to showcase in the office.

The course is spectator friendly, with food and drink options available on the day.
