Danae Kukard (right) is flying the flag of the Cape Winelands in her pursuit of being crowned Miss South Africa 2024. The Franschhoek local is part of the top 30 contestants vying for the coveted beauty pageant title. Kukard (24) has lived in Franschhoek for the past six years. The teacher, who holds a qualification from Stellenbosch University, considers herself strong-willed, hardworking, a go-getter and someone who thrives off connection. She is passionate about empowering the youth through mentorship, education, culture and sport. She is pictured with fellow Miss SA hopeful Mia le Roux, the other contestant from the Western Cape. The top 30 contestants recently gathered in Johannesburg for an action-packed schedule of interviews, photo shoots and workshops. Viewers will get to meet the finalists in Crown Chasers, the thrilling reality TV show which introduces South Africans to those vying to take the crown from the incumbent, Natasha Joubert.
