Thanks to entries for the SPAR Virtual Challenge, Spar Western Cape donated 15 000 sanitary towels to the Boland Veterans’ Cricket Association (BVCA), who supported the SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge by encouraging entries. In an attempt to up the ante in the development of girls’ cricket, the BVCA strongly feels that it’s a human right for girls not to have to miss out on equal opportunity because of period poverty. It runs a dignity and social development programme that distributes sanitary pads to girls in need. The handover was done at the SPAR Distribution Centre recently, and various members of the BVCA, as well as Boland girls’ cricket were in attendance, showing their commitment to the project.
