In an exciting development poised to transform the local hospitality scene, Vlottenberg’s renowned Jordan Wine Estate has partnered with Wonderbag, the innovative brand founded by Sarah Collins in 2008, to promote energy-free ways of operating.
Inspired by a shared commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, the collaboration will introduce eco-friendly practices designed to elevate guest experiences in which more sustainable practices play a part, particularly in their stay on the estate.
At the centre of such moves is the Wonderbag, which is being introduced at the centre.
According to Bianke Ohle, marketing manager at Jordan Wine Estate, the concept originated from a desire to offer a unique and eco-friendly dining experience at the Jordan Luxury Suites.
“The Wonderbag’s ability not only to cook food, but keep it warm for extended periods without additional energy sources makes it an ideal solution for delivering meals to guests’ rooms. This approach allows guests to enjoy their meals in the comfort and privacy of their suites without compromising on quality,” she said.
The Wonderbag is a non-electric, heat-retention cooker that allows food to continue cooking for up to eight hours, without using an additional energy source.
Guests staying at Jordan Luxury Suites will appreciate the convenience and practicality of the in-suite dinner baskets served in Wonderbags. They can enjoy their meals at their leisure, indoors or on their patios, in a comfortable and scenic setting.
The meals served in the Wonderbags will include hearty beef short rib and the signature butter chicken with naan.
Collins expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership. “Partnering with Wonderbag aligns perfectly with our values,” said Ohle.
“This collaboration helps us support local communities and boost our environmental footprint. By incorporating Wonderbags in our kitchen at the Cellar Door, we conserve energy and resources while contributing to social initiatives.”
