The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) will host a benefit gala in partnership with the Friends of Orchestral Music (FOM) at the Artscape on Tuesday 12 July at 19:30.
The concert will be conducted by the CPO’s principal guest conductor, Bernhard Gueller, and features two international stars, Dutch/English violinist Daniel Rowland and Serbian cellist Maja Bogdanovic. The charismatic couple will perform the “Brahms Double Concerto”, a work they both love and enjoy performing together. It will begin with the overture from “La Forza del destino”by Verdi and conclude with the firecracker, the “Symphony no 5” by Beethoven.
Rowland and Bogdanovic are also set to perform at the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival, which starts on Friday 1 July.
Tickets for the concert at the Atrscape cost R650 per person and can be booked by calling Dial-a-Seat on 021 421 7695 or online via Computicket. The cost includes a printed programme, canapés and bubbly from Le Lude, Luc Belaire and Laborie, or Appletiser and water.
