Dornier Wine Estate will host the Moordenaarskloof Trail Run, presented by Sportsmans Warehouse, this Sunday (3 April).

Trail runners can experience the single-track that circles in the gorge called Moordenaarskloof in the fourth event in Dirtopia’s trail run series of 2022. It offers two beautiful routes – 5,5 km and a 10 km – with online pre-entries open at www.dirtpass.co.za until today (Thursday 31 March). Prices start at R140 for the 5,5 km run and R170 for the 10 km event, while u- 18s pay R60 online. Late entries will be charged at an additional fee on the morning of the event, and children will pay full price.

Registration starts at the venue at 07:30, with staggered race starts at 08:30 (10 km) and 08:45 (5,5 km).

Both routes offer good climbing to the water point, with picturesque views through the vineyards as well as rewarding single track and scenic views back down to the finish in front of the wine cellar – where food and wine tastings will be on offer.

Timing for all Dirtopia events is done with Amarider Trail Tags, which can be rented or bought with your entry online or at the registration point. Medals will be awarded to all finishers and the refreshment station on both routes will have drinks and fruit.

There will be a prize giving with lucky draw for vouchers from Sportsman’s Warehouse and prizes from Falke and Dornier Wines, around 10:00. Dirtopia will also offer the Easter edition of its monthly Sunset to Full Moon Hikes at Muratie Wine Estate on Thursday 14 April.
