Entries for the Totalsports Women’s Race is now open to all runners who wish take on this premier race.
The Cape Town event will be held in the Cape Town CBD on Women’s Day (Friday 9 August), with runners taking off in Darling Street and crossing the line at the Grand Parade.
“What better way to honour Nathan by extending the celebration throughout the month of August,” said Michael Meyer, managing director of Stillwater Sports. “We’re excited to unite with thousands of active women across three major cities for three action-packed days of celebration. We’re thrilled to open entries for 2024 and would like to encourage runners and walkers to register early to secure their spot on the start line.”
The event is a mass-participation women’s only road race that takes place across three major cities (Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg) and caters to both social runners and elite athletes. It is a celebration of women’s strength and empowerment, providing a platform for women from all backgrounds to come together and participate in a high-energy, caring environment in support of PinkDrive, an organisation committed to improving breast cancer awareness and education, as well as providing and offering free services to the medically uninsured across South Africa.
Runners can enter the 10 km or 5 km, which starts at 08:00 and 08:10 respectively. The cost of the longer race is R145 per person, while the 5 km event costs R110 per entrant. A temporary licence for runners costs R50.
