Organisers of the popular Fedhealth MTB Challenge, which will be held at Root44 on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September, have announced a R36 000 price purse for riders in the marathon ride.
Michael Meyer, managing director of Stillwater Sports and event founder, said the leading man and woman in the marathon will each receive R7 000, the runners-up will be rewarded R5 000, while the third-place finishers will collect R3 000 each.
Prize money has also been allocated to the top three performers across the Sub Vet Men and Women, Vet Men and Women, and Master Men and Women categories.
The event features a 15 km fun ride, Fedhealth Kids MTB events, 60 km marathon, and 30 km half-marathon. Entries close on Monday 4 September.
