Cape Winelands FM will host its very first LGBT Miss Cape Winelands and Cape Winelands’ Got Talent competition in Klapmuts this Saturday (30 November).
The organisation has partnered with WildKoast Media & Entertainment to ensure it not only covers and promotes diversity in the Winelands community generally. The project aims to uplift, educate and celebrate different cultures in society through song, dance and pageantry at Klapmuts Primary School.
The talent competition is driven by WildKoast Media and promises an exciting line-up. New and upcoming artists and dancers will perform as solo or group acts, and stand a chance to win a recording deal with WildKoast Media. Entrants are encouraged to bring their family and friends along as support, for the winner of the competition will be decided by the audience and ultimately be crowned the Cape Winelands’ Got Talent winner of 2024.
Armstar Mhlekude, director of WildKoast Media, is excited to see all the talent on one stage, battling it out to receive a recording deal with the media company.
The highlight and main event of the evening will be crowning of LGBT Miss Cape Winelands 2024. Participants from across the Cape will strut their stuff and showcase their talents on stage in the hopes of being of winning the first-ever crown.
The Queen will have the opportunity to work alongside Cape Winelands FM on numerous projects and events, all in aid of the radio station’s community-upliftment objectives. As the country marks 16 Days of Activism of No Violence against Women and Children, the organisers are advocating to every single individual in society to break the cycle of violence and change the narrative, and curb this scourge once and for all.
Being crowned comes with major responsibilities; a highly-esteemed panel of judges from across the Cape will tackle the task of choosing the winner.
Pageant director Roshnique Laqeesha Savage can’t wait to see what the contestants will bring to the stage. “Every single contestant should be proud to part of something of this magnitude, as it is the very first time a pageant that carries the name of the entire district is hosted.
“We would like to thank the principal and staff of Klapmuts Primary School for giving us the green light to host this project. Your trusted support to Cape Winelands FM and it’s initiatives does not go by unnoticed. We look forward to future collaborations with the school.”
Locals are encouraged to show their support by their attendance. Admission costs R30. The doors open at 17:00, with the talent show starting at 17:30, followed by the pageant at 19:00.
