Hikers can look forward to enjoying the Autumn edition of the Sunset to Full Moon Hike at Muratie this Sunday, 5 March. It will take place from Dirtopia Trail Centre.
Breathtaking views of the winelands as you hike to the lookout at the foot of Simonsberg. These hikes are not to be missed, as there is a wine station at the picnic area on the mountain, where friends and family can relax while enjoying a glass or bottle of Muratie’s Sauvignon Blanc, Blended Red or Lady Alice MCC.
Total circular marked route is only 3,5 km, and it is doable by all ages and fitness levels. Steps to the top of about 2 km that can take 30 to 45 minutes to hike. Make sure you wear good walking shoes and take your headlamp for walking down in the forest after toasting the sunset.
Coffee station will be ready on arrival from 17:30, and also open before you head home. Don’t start your hike later than 18:30, as the sun sets by 19:15. Hikers can be back at the Trail Centre between 19:45 and 20:15, when they can find out who the winner is of the lucky draw – stand a chance to win a hamper from Falke socks!
