Consultation with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is now underway in the case of former Hawks member Monwabisi Nyamanda.
He is accused of shooting his wife, Vuyokazi (41) after the two allegedly had an argument at their Khayamandi home on Saturday 21 December 2024.
According to reports Vuyokazi had fled from the couple’s home to neighbours on the fatal day.
It is believed Nyamanda followed and shot at his wife 18 times in full view of neighbours.
He appeared in the Stellenbosch Magistrates’ Court on Monday (22 September).
During the court proceedings, his legal representative indicated that Nyamanda intends to apply for a plea and sentence agreement with the State.
The case was postponed for further consultation until Wednesday 22 October.
