Local charity organisation the Forward Foundation will host a fundraising event, Music, Wine & Dine, at the boutique hotel and olive farm The Salene on 29 March in aid of its charities.
Guests can look forward to an array of canapés, to be followed by a three-course sit-down dinner.
The event will be accompanied by music from Lourens and Esté Raaf, better known as South African duo band RAAF (formerly known as Bottomless Coffee Band), throughout the evening.
Guests will take their seats at 18:00.
Award winning vintages from Quoin Rock wines are offered as part of the ticket price and guests will be treated to sampling wines as well as six tastings while winemaker Schalk Opperman gives his insights during the tasting.
All proceeds will go towards maintaining and improving the successful programmes of the foundation.
It was founded by Le Roux Conradie and his brother, FC, in 2020, when Le Roux, the managing director, wanted to offer innovative socioeconomic development services to children, youth, schools and communities across South Africa.
“Our programmes are designed to educate, enable, support and inspire participants,” Le Roux said. “We include physical education and sport in many of our projects, and the concept of a ‘healthy body, healthy mind’ is our mantra.
“We believe physical activity has a profound impact on the development of children as well as on the personal formation of teenagers and young adults. Our programmes are ensuring we move South Africa forward, faster.
“We are thrilled to have RAAF at our first event for the year.
“As Forward Foundation ambassadors they wrote, composed and recorded the ‘Moving Forward Faster’ song, in 2022.
“It is available on YouTube and Spotify.”
He says they hope everyone will come out to support the cause while creating some beautiful memories with their friends and family.
“It is such an exciting time for Esté and me to be part of the Forward Foundation,” Lourens Raaf said.
“We truly value the ability music has to touch lives, something we do not take for granted.
“Le Roux and everyone at the Forward Foundation is doing great work, and we are honoured to have our music and performances serve the work the organisation is doing and to be partnering with them on this event.”
