Stakeholders have come together to ensure a wide range of school holiday programmes are available across the length and breadth of Stellenbosch.

In preparation, training is being offered in the certain areas to keep school-going children and school-going youth constructively busy during the three-week winter school holidays.

The training is offered by professionals in the following fields: recreation and sport, drama, music and movement, adventure activities, craft art. Links with local churches are encouraged through compassion days and participating in youth events.

The partners include many of the organisations that took hands in the Keep them Safe project. The founding partners for the 2022 programme are the Stellenbosch School Network, Stellenbosch Prayer Network, Asset Builder Network, e’Bosch, One Hope Church, Thando, Stellenbosch Academy of Sport and Stelcare.

The training is offered on four consecutive Saturdays starting this week (28 May) from 09:00 to 14:00 each week.

Existing school holiday programmes can benefit from new material, while grassroots groups can benefit from support on a wide front of resources.

The Asset Builder Network has a goal that every child in Stellenbosch has sufficient developmental assets to thrive.

. People who wish to join the training programme can contact project leader Robyn Philips at 071 864 6262 for more information.
