In celebration of Heritage Month, Rijk Melck, passionate custodian of Muratie Wine Estate and entertaining storyteller, is starting a dedicated Stories With Rijk series, with the first event to be held on Monday (25 September).

Melck will host a wine tasting and share the estate’s rich, centuries-old heritage at a series of “History Talks and Tastings”. The first event will be a fascinating celebration of Muratie’s living heritage as guests sip on Muratie’s icon wines, tasting the history.

“Heritage is the golden thread that connects past, present and future,” Melck explained. “At Muratie it is more than our historical buildings and artefacts, and the famous residents immortalised by our wines. It is the stories of traditions and relationships that have endured through centuries, also values and a team culture that are actively nurtured as part of our living heritage.”

The event takes place from 11:00 to 13:00. The cost of R495 per person includes the history talk, wine tasting and a branded Muratie glass. Reservations are essential via email on taste@muratie.co.za.
