Stellenbosch Cricket Club successfully hosted its annual golf day at Kuils River Golf Club last Friday (30 May).
The event brought together enthusiastic participants for a day of fun, laughter, and camaraderie, with multiple four-ball teams taking to the course. Throughout the day, players and sponsors alike contributed to an unforgettable experience.
With the support of the Kuilsriver Golf Club management, the event ran seamlessly, culminating in a delightful supper and prize-giving ceremony in the evening.
The day’s ultimate winners were Reeve Cyster and Theo van Wyk, who claimed victory in the spirited competition.
The local club extends its heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors, whose generosity played an instrumental role in the success of the event.
Funds raised will be directed toward the club’s junior development programme, which serves as a vital platform for young cricketers to learn the game, develop essential life skills, and benefit from valuable mentorship.
A pillar of the community, Stellenbosch Cricket Club has experienced remarkable growth over the years, establishing itself as one of the largest clubs in Cricket Boland.
Currently, the club boasts three senior men’s teams, one senior women’s team, and four junior sides (under-11, under-13, under-15 and under-17). While the expansion is a source of great pride, sustaining operations remains an ongoing challenge, with events like the annual golf day serving as crucial fundraising initiatives.
