Action awaits this weekend when one of the world’s most progressive free-ride mountain-biking (MTB) events, DarkFEST, is held at Vuurberg Farm in Stellenbosch.

The MTB event will surely see massive jumps and an all-star line-up of riders ready to provide big-air mayhem. Hosted by event creator Sam Reynolds, DarkFEST 2025 is set to have some of the gnarliest freeride sessions. A limited batch of tickets is available for the event at The Hellsend Dirt Compound at Vuurberg farm.

For those wanting to get a look at the Darkfest 2025 course, there is the Insta360 course preview. Prepare for a lavish display of free-ride MTB genius with the entire DarkFEST course through the eyes of Reynolds, Dylan Lamb, Sam Hodgson, Kaos Seagrave and Dylan Lamb.

Featuring the world’s biggest jumps on one of the world’s longest jump lines, the ninth year of DarkFEST once again welcomes the best freeriders on the planet for another week of big air and big haircuts.

The trails crew have done an outstanding job refreshing the course of dreams, also adding some new features like the quarter pipe leading into a set of shark fins that have added some new possibilities to an already bonkers course.

DarkFEST has earned a rightful reputation as one of the most progressive events through the years. It continues to push boundaries of how much fun can be had on and off a bike.

Featuring the world-famous step-up, the rocket launchers that are widely considered the “Mozart of jumps” and generate some of the biggest amplitude ever experienced on a bike, speeds of up to 80 km/h and of course the 110-foot-jump that has been privy to Tom Isted’s world record dirt-to-dirt backflip.

The event continues to push boundaries with some of the largest jumps in MTB history and will welcome the world’s best male and female riders to test them to their limits.

This year’s lineup will see MTB legends, fan favourites, emerging free-ride and slope-style talent such as Clemens Kaudela, Robin Goomes and Kaiden Ingersoll making their way to the Boland.

Riding is dependent on various factors especially the weather.
