All things floral and green were celebrated on Sunday 9 October, when locals were implored to take a step from their comfort zones and homes to experience the beauty, tranquillity and wonder of their gardens on the annual celebration of Garden Day. Joining in the outdoor green fun was Jamestown family (from left) Vuyolwethu Mayile, Lindokuhle Gongwe, Zinnia Gongwe and Boston Gongwe, who decided to don specially created green wreath crowns to mark the day. Boston, a professional welder, works at Wendy Atwell’s Jamestown Flower Farm full-time and dreams of becoming a florist and passing his newfound floral knowledge on to his children.
