Local police and community members in Khayamandi had a frightful start to the week after a three-year-old went missing.
Luckily little Enzokuhle Mtshobeni was found safe and sound at his mother’s home in Khayelitsha on Monday afternoon (4 March).
According to police the boy’s father reported him missing on Sunday (3 March) when he was playing outside his home in Eighth Avenue, between 15:00 and 19:00, but when his father went to look for him he was nowhere to be found.
At the time of his disappearance Enzokuhle was wearing a long-sleeve blue top, cargo pants and blue Batman sandals.
Many locals were concerned about the boy’s safety after the recent disappearance of a Grade 1 learner in Saldanha Bay, Joshlin Smith (6), who has been missing since Monday 19 February.
However, Enzokuhle was found unharmed with his other parent. Captain Nathalie Martin, Stellenbosch police spokesperson, confirmed the boy was later reunited with his father.
