Junior mountain bikers will get to cycle up a storm in the Winelands at the 8th annual Fedhealth MTB Challenge Kids Event, which takes place at a spectacular new venue, Root44 (Stellenbosch) on Saturday 9 September 2023.

The Fedhealth MTB Challenge Kids Event is a standout feature on the South African mountain biking calendar offering an exciting experience for young riders aged 1 to 13. Junior MTB enthusiasts can select from three options: a 500 m course for ages 0-5, a 1,5 km route for ages 6-9, and a thrilling 5 km track for ages 10-13.

Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, remarked: “The Fedhealth MTB Challenge Kids Event sets the perfect tone for an incredible weekend of mountain biking. Designed for junior mountain bikers aged 1 to 13, the action commences with an enjoyable 500 m ride, followed by a captivating 1,5 km ride and an exhilarating 5 km ride. Rather than focus on competition, this event encourages participants to embrace the outdoors, engage in physical activity, and create unforgettable memories with their families and friends. Please note no timing will be recorded. We can’t wait to see South Africa’s future stars in action at the Fedhealth MTB Challenge Kids Event.”

“It’s never too early to help our kids to adopt healthy habits, such as regular exercise. And what better way to achieve this than by getting the whole family together on their bikes at the 2023 Fedhealth MTB Challenge?

“So we hope to see many young faces in Stellenbosch for the kids’ races; come and enjoy the weekend with mom and dad. Show us what you’ve got!” says Jeremy Yatt, Fedhealth Principal Officer.
