The Sportsmans Warehouse Trail Run Series continues with the Mid-year Trail Run at Muratie Wine Estate in Stellenbosch on Sunday (30 June).
This is the ninth time the annual event is being hosted at the wine estate, where the fires will be burning and coffee will be ready when registration opens at 08:00, while the first start of the long route is 08:45 and the short route 09:00.
Runners who pre-enter by Friday morning will save on fees as well as qualify for a special event medal and a PVM energy bar or gel.
Trail maintenance by the Dirtopia trail management team will make sure the 11 km and 6 km routes are ready with lots of beautiful green single-track sections in the forest on the farm’s trail network. Some new sections of trail have been recently added recently to the maze of trails on the mountain above the cellar.
There will be refreshment stations on route and at the finish line, where runners can also collect a finisher’s medal. Prizes for the winners and lucky draws include Sportsmans Warehouse vouchers with a total value of R2 000, Falke socks and Muratie wines. Live timing is optional when buying or renting a Trail Tag.
