An intercept try, two minutes shy of the full-time siren, from the sensational Jurenzo Julius (pictured) helped Paul Roos Gymnasium snatch away a 24-26 victory over Paarl Gimnasium in the third Premier Interschools match of the season, at the Jan Kriel Field in Paarl on Saturday (7 May). A tightly contested first half saw the home side head into the locker rooms trailing 7-9, following some clinical defence that kept a strong and very talented Paul Roos attacking side at bay. Loosehead prop Wilbur Loubser, skipper and flanker Herman Lourens and outside centre Julius dotted down for the Stellenbosch team, while full-back Christoff de Bruyn succeeded with one conversion and three penalties. Julius’ outstanding performance and the match-winning try ensured him the SupaQuick Man of the Match prize.Photo: Ashley Vlotman/Gallo Images
