We are back to a full house of fixtures this week and many of the local teams find themselves on the road.
Only Raithby Universals and Strand Pioneers are playing at home, while there is also a derby between All Saints and Strand United.
This week’s fixtures are:
) St George’s vs Paarl (Paarl)
It’s been a while since we’ve seen this fixture. The Lulu Boys come off a big loss to Villager and will want to make up for that result.
I don’t see Paarl being too much of a threat for a wounded St George’s.
Prediction: Lulus to win by 10 or more points.
) Sir Lowrians vs Hands and Heart (Eikendal)
The Navy Train are struggling to build some steam and will struggle away from home. The hosts will target this match for a full-house of points.
Prediction: Sir Lowrians to lose by 15 or more points.
) Helderberg vs Franschhoek (Franschhoek)
Berge are off to a great start and should continue building momentum.
Franschhoek gain confidence when their crowd is behind them.
Prediction: Berge to win by eight or more points.
) All Saints vs Strand United (Somerset West)
Derby fever will hit Helderzicht this weekend. Saints are probably more settled, but United love derbies and its challenges. United are still winless though. A tough one to call.
Prediction: All Saints to win by six or more
) Macassar vs Lagunya (Nyanga)
The Mac Boys will have to target this game for maximum points. They need to stay focused and not get caught up in the poor conditions.
Prediction: Macassar to win with bonus point.
) Raithby Universals vs Elsies River United (Raithby)
RU needs to get their season going. After suffering three losses and now facing decent opposition, it could make a few people quite nervous this week.
Prediction: Raithby to lose by seven or more points.
) Strand vs Vineyards (Paarl)
Vineyards are unbeaten at home for three years. They are my favourites to win this league. Strand have an uphill battle this week. A strong defensive structure is all that will save them from an embarrassing loss.
Prediction: Strand to lose by 10 or more points.
) Strand Pioneers vs Eerste Rivier (Abattoir)
Pines come off a huge loss to Van der Stel and Rivas will be just as tough.
Prediction: Pines to lose by 20 or more.
