Men across the country will brave the elements and more when they kit-up in nothing but a Speedo for the annual Hollard Daredevil Run.

Only a few weeks remain before thousands of men countrywide will make their ballsiest move yet during the 2025 Hollard Daredevil Run, in support of prostate and testicular cancer awareness.

On Friday 31 October South African men will lace-up for a cause and run in nothing but a purple Speedo. Every step taken helps fund screening, awareness and research, especially for those who don’t have access to these.

The countrywide run will be held at various locations, including Stellenbosch, and raises funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa).

Now in its 16th year, it will see runners register to run on their own or in groups anywhere in the country.

The event fosters an environment where men feel encouraged to discuss their health openly and take proactive steps, which is crucial since early detection of prostate and testicular cancer can save lives.

Added Hazel Chimhandamba, chief marketing officer at Hollard: “It’s so important to normalise conversations around male cancers. Women also play a critical role in encouraging their loved ones to take action. The Hollard Daredevil Run extends beyond corporates to schools, because these conversations need to start early. Girls often have support through health programmes, but for boys, we must ensure open discussions about male health and cancers.”

The Stellenbosch run will see participants meet at Cape Crusade coffee ship in the Jan Marais Park at 06:00 on 31 October.

Entry costs R180, and if you sign up through Ticketpro before Monday 27 October your registration pack and complimentary purple Speedo will be couriered directly to you. Donations are also welcome on the Hollard Daredevil Run’s BackaBuddy crowdfunding platform.
