The bi-annual Stellenbosch Craft Beer Festival (SCBF) will be held at the picturesque Jan Marais Nature Reserve on Saturday 5 March.

The event combines the best in local food, craft beer, craft gin and local entertainment, with the aims to present some of the latest and most loved craft brews.

The craft beer experience has taken micro brewing and micro distilling to a new level in recent years, while there has also been an emergence of craft gin and agave based spirits, rum, mead and much more. The SCBF has played a major role in creating a platform for local artisans to exhibit their products.

Visitors are encouraged to test their pallets and try new varieties. This year the event will also for the first time include a non-alcoholic cocktail bar, with a selection of fresh pressed juice-based cocktails.

The SCBF is a family-friendly day outing suitable for everyone. There will be ample seating and shade, but visitors can also take along camping chairs, picnic blankets and beach umbrellas.

The gates open at 11:00 and live music starts around noon. Tickets, at R140 and R120 for adults and R70 for children aged 12 to 17 are available at www.quicket.co.za. Children under seven enter at no cost, while adult tickets at the gate will cost R150.
