The Theatrix Singers of Stellenbosch, formerly known as the Klein Libertas Theatre Choir, will present their latest production, I Started a Joke, at The Daisy Jones Bar on Summerhill Farm outside Stellenbosch, from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 September.

This is the first theatrical production being presented at venue. It was inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic and takes a look at how the earth is being destroyed by climate change, wars, pandemics and the cruelty of humans. The show is very theatrical with costuming, sound and light effects.

The music and songs are well-known songs that were bespoke-arranged for the Theatrix Singers and are performed in the context of the basic theme of post-apocalyptic survival. The members of the Theatrix Singers are residents of the Helderberg and Stellenbosch.

I Started a Joke will take to the stage at 20:00 on Friday and Saturday, and 15:00 on Sunday. Book your tickets online through Quicket at R145 or purchase your ticket at the door at R170. The doors will open two hours before the show.
