There’s something for everyone on the entertainment cards at The Manor restaurant at Nederburg in Paarl this month!
The fun starts with the eatery’s burgers and Baronne lunch and dinner special every Thursday at just R250. The cost includes two delicious beef burgers and a 750 ml bottle of Baronne, Nederburg’s hugely popular blend of cabernet sauvignon and shiraz. The Manor’s weekly sunset stoep sessions takes place every Friday during summer. It comprises popular live music, fine wines and majestic sunsets over the mountains and lush vines. A wide range of sharing plates and snack platters are available to order.
This Saturday (5 February) an outdoor screening of About Time will be hosted by the Galileo Open Air Cinema. The film will be shown on big screen, on the lush lawn in front of the historic manor house. Visitors can sip on the winery’s award-winning wines, while nibbling on an array of flavourful food. You can also slow down and unwind with a visit to the popular Slow Market at Nederburg on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 February, and every weekend afterwards, from 09:00 to 15:00. Market highlights include a pop-up tshisanyama experience, with a variety of local flavours and crafters and live music among others.
There’s also something planned for singletons for Valentine’s month at The Manor on Saturday 12 February at 18:00 for 18:30 – a chance for you to broaden your social circle and possibly meet your next love interest. There will be bubbly, canapés, a four-course small plate menu paired with some of Nederburg’s top wines. The evening is topped off with the sweet sounds of live music by Xander Stander and DJ John Nielso you can dance the night away under the stars. For families, The Manor’s picnics offer the perfect opportunity for family time and catch-up with friends on the lawns. The picnic basket, at R540 per basket, serves two people and includes a bottle of Nederburg’s finest. There are vegetarian and children’s options available. The children can enjoy the play area’s jungle gyms, zip-lines, tree house, swings and more. Bookings for the picnics must be made 24 hours in advance.
