Open Day for showcasing old apple varieties in Elgin

Tru-Cape, with the Lockdown Recipe Storytelling Book group, recently held its Open Day and picnic Heritage Orchard, showcasing old apple varieties no longer in commercial production, at Oak Valley Estate in Elgin. The annual event attracts people from across the country. Nate Smith from Franschhoek, Loretta Ferris from Rondebosch, Soraya Mentoor from Kenilworth, Adele Smith from Franschhoek and Phumlani Malinga from Kalk Bay enjoyed the day.
