The under-19A soccer team of Paul Roos Gymnasium enjoyed a great run at the Reddam House Constantia Soccer Tournament from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 March. The team were crowned champions following their 5-4 penalty shoot-out win over Bergvliet High School in the final. The team started off the tournament with a 2-1 victory over Bridgehouse on day 1. The second day saw them claim victory over Wynberg Boys’ High (1-0) and they suffered a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Bergvliet High, but still qualified for the semi- finals against Rondebosch Boys’ High – an encounter which they won 1-0. The final against Bergvliet ended goalless after regular time, but accuracy from the penalty spot saw the team from Stellenbosch claim the tournament spoils.
