After captivating audiences in Cape Town for 15 years, PechaKucha Night is set to make its debut in the Cape Winelands, bringing a fresh and exciting platform for storytelling and idea sharing to Stellenbosch on Saturday 16 March.
The global phenomenon, known for its unique presentation format, is calling for local speakers to join this inaugural event.
PechaKucha, Japanese for “chit-chat”, revolutionises the way presentations are delivered. Presenters share their stories and ideas through 20 images, each displayed for 20 seconds, resulting in a concise, fast-paced presentation of six minutes and 40 seconds. This format, celebrated in more than 1 200 cities worldwide, encourages clarity and creativity, making each talk a dynamic and engaging experience.
Having run four times a year in Cape Town for the past 15 years, PechaKucha has become a beloved event for storytellers, innovators and thinkers. Now, for the first time, this inspiring event is coming to the winelands, offering a stage for local voices to be heard.
Organisers are on the lookout for enthusiastic storytellers, passionate educators, innovative thinkers and community leaders from the winelands to share their inspiring stories and ideas. Whether you’re an adventurer with thrilling tales, a winemaker with the secrets of the vine or an artist with a unique perspective, you are invited to apply to speak at the event.
- It will be held at the Neelsie Cinema from 14:00 to 16:00. Speaker application forms and more information can be found online at https://forms.gle/we9iARYHS6MzBaLh9.
