The crime-fighting team (from left) are Warrant Officer Mark Jacobs, Constable Junaid Anthony, Brigadier Sandile Sonjani, Constable Zinzan Curtley Truter, Constable Lee-Ashwin Lucas and Constable Peter Oliphant. Sergeant Cornel Wenn, Constable Ruzanne Harrison and Constable Bradley Eksteen were absent from the event.

Constable Peter Oliphant was named Policeman of the Year. He received his award from Stellenbosch Police Station commander Brigadier Sandile Sonjani. The Policewoman of the Year award went to Constable Ruzanne Harrison, who was not in attendance.

The 2024 Detective of the Year prize was awarded to Detective-Sergeant Clinton Malan, with Brigadier Sandile Sonjani doing the honour of presenting the award to him.

The ceremony was also an opportunity for the local police to show their appreciation to their crimefighting partners, especially the local community policing forum (CPF). Sonjani presented André Pelser, chairperson of the Stellenbosch CPF, with a special token of gratitude. Pelser was instrumental in arranging the event and ensuring great sponsors. Station management thanked the following sponsors for the support: Stellenbosch CPF, Protea Hotel Technopark, ABC Security, Chill Beverages, Muldersbosch, Root44, Skilpadvlei, Aaldering, Wolwedans, Joubert Family, Polkadraai Farm Watch, Gino’s Stellenbosch and Old Mutual Technopark.

The CPU B team received an award for achieving targets together with CPU A. The team comprises (from left) Constable David Williams, Constable Stephenol Muller, Brigadier Sandile Sonjani, Sergeant Craig Mentoor, Constable Arlin Laubscher and Constable Lorenzo Jacobs.
