In his address, Ramjugernath set out his vision, to make SU an innovative and transformative institution "in service of society." He paid tribute to his peers for the welcome he received from them and said he felt honoured and humbled to take stewardship of the university. He welcomed the opportunity to play his part in enabling students, staff and alumni reach their full potential, not only in Stellenbosch, but across the country, on the continent and globally.
