Making a difference is good, but making a change is great.
The Animal Welfare Society Stellenbosch (AWSS) launched its Happy Paws Lottery on Wednesday 1 June to give people the chance to give an animal a second chance and an opportunity to win R25 000.
“Making a difference in the lives of animals is what we do daily, but making real change needs the combined effort of all animal lovers,” explained Jessica Perrins, head of fundraising and communication at AWSS.
“The AWSS, 65 years ago, promised to never turn away any animal in need and every year we offer a place of safety and temporary home for thousands of surrendered, stray and homeless animals thanks to your benevolence.”
But the organisation is facing tough times and there are more animals that need its help. “By playing the Happy Paws Lottery, you will help the AWSS continue to be a lifeline to neglected, abandoned and lonely animals that otherwise would not receive care and be left to fend for themselves,” Perrins related.
“Most of the animals admitted into our care have never known love or experienced the comfort of a gentle human touch. It is up to us to be the difference and you to help us make the change.”
