Paul Roos athletics shined at Twizza Super School National finals!

Joshua Acker, Reinhardt Nel, Musahdiq Cornelson, Zak Hickman and John-Oliver Klynsmith from Paul Roos Gimnasium all finished with podium places at the Twizza Super School National finals last weekend.

The PRG team finished in 14th place, improving from their 19th place ranking at the end of 2021.

With 10 athletes recording or matching their personal bests it was a great opportunity for the boys to measure themselves against the best teams in the country.

Despite some pouring rain and thunder overhead during the early part of the day, the weather cleared up nicely. The day saw some high-quality athletics performances from the men in maroon.

To end off the day’s proceedings the u-19 mixed relay team of Jurenzo Julius, Barthelemie Bena-Ntumba, Jonathan Essien and Elisha Miller ran a great race, going toe to toe with eventual relay winners Midstream College and runners-up Tuks Sport’s School and finishing third in the strong final heat. Elisha held off a late charge from the chasing pack and the team finished fourth overall in this exciting new addition to the event.
