It was three from three for the Paul Roos Gymnasium cricket teams as they locked horns and recorded victories over Parel Vallei High School on Saturday (21 October).
The under-19A team walked away convincing winners after their 233-run win over their counterparts from Somerset West.
PRG batted first and scored 312/6 in their allotted overs, with Luca Plekker (88), Cornel Swart (77) and Beor van Reenen (57*) contributing with the willow.
In their innings the Parel Vallei charges struggled against the might of the PRG, and were eventually all bowled out for 79 runs. Dian Winkel (5/26 in 6.5 overs) and Neil Barnard (3/5 in 4 overs) were the chief destroyers.
Meanwhile, in the under-15A encounter, the PRG team recorded a two-wicket win over their opponents.
The Somerset West batsmen took first strike and managed to score 135/9 in their 50 overs. Connor Blake (3/27) and Jason Raal (2/14) were the pick of the PRG bowlers.
At the turn of the innings, the PRG batsmen struggled to keep their wickets, but eventually crossed the line in 33rd over with two wickets in hand. Kieran Swile (41) and Raal (29) were the top scorers.
The PRG under-14A team completely overhauled their PV opponents, recording a mammoth 242-run victory.
The Stellenbosch boys batted first, scoring a massive 352/8, largely thanks to outstanding batting by Jean Hamman (150) and Seth Muirhead (59).
The PV team battled against the PRG bowlers and were eventually all bowled out for 110 runs. Dion Slabber (4/30) and Pieter Luttig (3/35) were the best bowlers.
