Rhenish Girls’ High School celebrated its 158th birthday on Friday 4 May in true Rhenish style — no dull Founder’s Day ceremony, but rather a party with balloons, special guests, birthday songs and cake.

Sharing the day were leaders of three of the high schools in Stellenbosch, Stellenbosch High, Paul Roos Gymnasium and Hoër Meisieskool Bloemhof.

A host of guests, including past principals, ex-teachers, members of the governing body and other principals attended the celebration.

A special treat was the address by Rhenish old girl Dr Lindi Nel (class of 2007), who attended the birthday bash with her mother and loyal Rhenish supporter, Marisa Nel.
