Rhenish gets flawless pass rate

The Rhenish Girls’ High School matric class achieved excellent results in the 2023 National Senior Certificate examinations, getting a 100% pass rate and delivering the country’s top Grade 12 learner.


The Rhenish Girls’ High School matric class achieved excellent results in the 2023 National Senior Certificate examinations, getting a 100% pass rate and delivering the country’s top Grade 12 learner.

Apart from the flawless pass rate, the school’s candidates also achieved a 97,1% Bachelor’s pass and 492 subject distinctions at an average of 3,51 As per candidate.

South Africa’s top Grade 12 learner for 2023, Melissa Müller, was the Rhenish Dux learner, achieving an average of 97,6% and seven subject distinctions. In addition she was also the country’s top achiever in mathematics.

Furthermore, 14 candidates achieved an average of more than 90% and 60 candidates – or 43% of the class – achieved an A-average.

“The results achieved by the Rhenish Girls’ High School Class of 2023,” said principal Tracey Megom, “along with the accolade of achieving one of the top positions in the country with regard to academic performance, is a celebration of the consistent hard work put in by the learners over time.

“It is also testament to the hard work and quality of our teachers in nurturing and developing these young minds over the course of their high school journey.

“Excellent academic results are a process and collective effort, and credit must go to the staff, learners and parents for the important role played by each.”

On the remarkable achievement and success of Müller, Megom said: “We as a school are extremely proud and privileged to have been a part of Melissa’s journey.

“We wish her everything of the best in the next chapter of her life.

“We know she will continue to be the wonderful Rhenish Girls’ High School ambassador she has always been.”
