Rhenish Dux Scholar 2019 Samantha Smuts with Principal Helmien Slabber at the school’s recent Top Candidates Assembly, where it celebrated 57 matrics achieving A aggregates in the 2019 NSC examinations.
Matriculants of Rhenish Girls’ High once again excelled in the final exams of 2019.
Rhenish was ninth on the list of the top 20 schools in the province with a National Senior Certificate (NSC) enrolment of 30 or more candidates (including independent schools), who achieved no less than excellent academic results.
The Class of 2019 consisting of 148 candidates excelled in the following ways:
V 100% pass rate
V 98,6% Bachelor degree pass (eligible for university)
V 57 A candidates
V 475 subject distinctions
V zero subject failures
Dux Scholar Samantha Smuts achieved an average of 91,3% while captaining a very successful 1st hockey side, and she was recently selected for the South African u-21 Ladies’ Invitational Hockey team.
