Stellenbosch police recently arrested a suspect who allegedly fired a firearm in Techno Park.
According to police reports a local security guard stopped a police officer to inform him that his colleague was in a fight with someone in possession of a firearm in Techno Park around 22:05 on Wednesday 5 November.
When the police arrived in Quantum Street, they found a security guard with the suspect. They searched him and confiscated a firearm in his possession.

The police officers contacted the Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) and, while waiting, they came across a white Land Rover Defender in an open field in Quantum Street, which had the keys inside as well as a black rifle on the front passenger seat.
The vehicle, along with the firearm, was taken to the local police station. There the suspect confirmed the Land Rover Defender and rifle belonged to him.
In total police found a R5 rifle with 120 rounds, one R4 rifle and 14 9 mm rounds.
The suspect was arrested on charges of discharging a firearm in a public place as well as criminal negligence with a firearm.
The suspect appeared in the Stellenbosch Magistrates’ Court on Friday 7 November and since been released on bail.
